FENDER USA Custom Shop 1960's Relic Stratocaster "Three Tone + Rosewood" (1999)

Here's a killer Custom Shop Strat with awesome looks and tone! Many players dig these earlier Custom Shop models citing better attention to detail and lower production numbers. And yes this ones a relic stamped by the man himself JC (John Cruz), coming straight from the Vince Cunetto era and would be of interest to Cunetto/John Cruz fans.

In late '97, the "Relic Classic" became the "Closet Classic", but Fender decided that it was a little late to get it ready for January '98 NAMM. Plans had already been made to re-tool and change the specs of the "Time Machine" Custom Shop guitars over the course of '98, and the new Relic model would be put off until later. By the latter part of '98, the Custom Shop had seen a lot of changes. John Page had left to run the Fender Museum. Because of new Custom Shop management and corporate policies, it was decided that the relic's would be done in-house at Custom Shop. They shipped the last "Cunetto Relics" in June of 1999 - Making this one of the first in-house relic's to be produced.

John Page, Vince Cunetto, John Cruz - together they made some of the best relic Stratocasters on the planet. This one is a sweet 1960's relic that plays and sings beautifully. 5 position tone switch and all the original parts. Excellent condition and well-loved by the previous owner. All nicks and wear are original. Please let me know if you would like to see any cavity/Pocket shots. I will email you privately. This one is dated as a 1999 and Stamped by John Cruz.

Made in the USA Custom Shop quality throughout. The 25.5-inch scale maple neck features a 9.5-inch radius Rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets. Check out the cool lacquer crazing on this example. A trio of 60's single-coils delivers big tone. A vintage style trem and Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is a gorgeous Three Tone lacquer set off by chrome hardware and white plastic. A really cool looking Strat. The neck is straight and the action is Low. The frets are still very full with no pitting. The pickups deliver variety of tones. All of the electronics work as they should. This is a solid example. COA and Original Case included. Great Investment opportunity and a chance to own one of the finest guitars ever built by some of the best builders
