FENDER USA Vintage Standard Stratocaster "Olympic white + Maple" (1979).

FENDER USA Vintage Standard Stratocaster "Olympic white + Maple" (1979).

Attention Collectors! Here's a cool 79 Strat that may break the bank! Nearly 40 years old! As 50s and 60s Strats become priced like new cars, these 70s models are the only Semi-affordable ones left! The body is alder for a distinctive tone. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a Maple fretboard with 21 frets. 3 original great sounding flat pole pickups hooked to an original 5 way switch. Original Cast saddle trem and F tuners. Cool Original un-aged Olympic White finish. Original neck (Please ask for internal/cavity pics and pocket stamps). No additional routs and no new soldering. Absolutely solid. Original 78/9 date coded pots. Date coded 1978/79 pickups and original nut. Correct steel bridge saddles, with string grooves. The Tone knobs however have been changed, Original period correct hardcase and Fender manual (Havent shown this in pictures but will be included)

Thanks to a recent pro set-up, this Strat plays itself. Nice action and overall feel. The Original pickups sound excellent with classic Strat tone. Everything works as it should. A nice guitar for a collector or a player. Tonal character is what you’d expect from a Strat from this era. Chilled or crisp from the neck pick-up, as you choose to run it with the tone pot wide open on 10, or rolled back a touch, Bite and twang from the bridge pick-up. The Strat has always had the ability to perform through a clean amp setting, or kick dirt, if required through an overdriven amp setting. A Strat from the late 60’s or early 70’s era might not have the same appeal as a similar model from the pre CBS glory era – Equally it doesn’t command the same price tag. So vintage appeal with a more sensible price tag.

It shows Very Minor wear for a 40 year old vintage piece. I personally think she hasn't been played alot - looking at the frets and usual areas susceptible to wear. Its common for these finishes to become discolored in areas. Fortunatley this has survived intact with only a few minor blemishes and a very small paint split near the rear contour. My Guess is that it was played for a few years by the original owner when purchased new and then left.
