GIBSON USA Les Paul 1960 Classic "Wine Red + Rosewood" (2005)

£1,499.99Price

Everything you want in a Les Paul in a cool and hard to find finish! The Les Paul Classic offers players killer Les Paul Standard tone at a great price. The body is solid mahogany for killer warm tone. The top is carved maple for added snap. One piece mahogany neck features a slim 60s shape and a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays. Gibson's 496R and 500T humbuckers are powerful and easily drive your amp into overdrive. Stopbar tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and vintage style tuners keep it all rock solid. This example is finished in a gorgeous Wine red lacquer. You have to dig them yellow trapzoid inlays as well! A great Les Paul with killer vibe!

This Les Paul has trademark crunch and good feel. The slim 60s neck plays great and the action is nice. The pickups sound and work great. This is a nice used guitar in solid condition. Well taken care of for its age. Condition wise, seldom played and not abused. Perhaps, an excellent' example and not a million miles away from being near mint. A couple of pin-head impressions to the rear-side bout is probably the worse marking, otherwise shes mint. Certainly nothing nasty.

The Classic is definitely the guitar if you want a Lester with a slim neck, hot pickups and a great price. Ready for almost anything, this is a great choice for the gigging player. They were always a great value offering the same features as a Les Paul Standard at a much lower price. But as an overview it does tend to possess an extra ounce of bite – So maybe more pleasing to the player who wants a Les Paul that delivers an extra kick!
