Post and Packing

Free fully insured express delivery service to the UK mainland. We no longer offer a Saturday delivery service – For carriage outside the UK mainland or to Europe and the rest of the world, please see Checkout page for a quote on your delivery address.

All guitars for the UK are sent fully insured via UPS – (Please note that due to the high cost of guitars I do not recommend them to be sent on a Friday for a Monday delivery, as the parcel will be left in the courier’s warehouse over the weekend period. As such I prefer to dispatch on a Monday for Tuesday delivery).

All guitars for Europe and the rest of the world will be sent, fully insured, via UPS or Fed-Ex with door to door tracking

Cancellation and Returns Policy for Mail Order Transactions

Delivery of damaged or faulty goods – When you receive the parcel, please check the packaging. If it appears to be damaged in transit, then sign the carrier’s documents as requested by the driver and add ‘Unchecked’ after your signature. Then immediately check the guitar to see if it is damaged or not. Any guitar that is received damaged or subsequently found to be faulty, please contact me immediately so I can arrange collection and any pending insurance claim. I’ll then offer a replacement, refund or repair, subject to your requirements and arrange appropriate shipping/collection. Please note that if the goods are damaged or faulty you must inform me, by phone and e-mail, within 24 hours of you receiving the parcel so I can make a claim with both the insurance company and carriers – no exceptions.

Returns If you are buying a guitar from Squealing Pig Guitars, then you have a 14 day ‘trial period’ to check its suitability. If the guitar does not meet your requirements, then you can cancel the order and return it for a refund, but the following conditions apply:

The term guitar as detailed below includes the appropriate case, gig bag, tags, manual, paperwork, spec sheet, registration/warranty card, accessories, documents or certificates, as applicable, including any strap, polishing cloth or cable etc

1. The guitar must be returned to Squealing Pig Guitars within 14 days, commencing from the date the parcel is signed for ‘as received’ – It is the responsibility of the customer to return the guitar, including any shipping and insurance costs to Squealing Pig Guitars

2. You must inform me before returning the guitar, either by phone or email – no exceptions

3. The customer has a statutory duty to take care of the guitar whilst it is in their possession. Therefore the guitar and appropriate packaging must be returned in the same condition as I sent it to you– Any loss or damage to the guitar during the ‘trial period’, and an appropriate returns fee will be applicable, or indeed the right to return the guitar maybe invalidated – The 14 day ‘trial period’ excludes the customer from rehearsing or gigging with the guitar. The ‘trial period’ enables you to evaluate the guitar within your home only.

4. The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping any returned guitar, along with any claim arising from damaged or missing guitar whilst in transit, therefore we suggest you include shipping insurance for any returns. Squealing Pig Guitars will not be held responsible for any damages that might be incurred whilst in transit on the return journey. The condition of the guitar is totally the responsibility of the customer until it is received back Squealing Pig Guitars.

5. Squealing Pig Guitars will refund the cost of the guitar, but will exclude any expenses whatsoever relating to the cost of shipping and transit insurance

6. The above policy only applies to guitars that are purchased mail order and subsequently sent to the customer. Customers who buy goods in the showroom can fully evaluate them prior to making the payment and as such do not have this return and refund option available to them.

Refunds -  Please note that Paypal and Stripe (Card) no longer refund the transaction fees associated with the sale or return of any product. If purchasing via Paypal or Stripe (Card) please be aware that the 2-3%  fee will be deducted from the refund amount (unless the guitar arrived "Not as described) - we therefore recommend other forms of payment where possible.

if the customer changes their mind for any reason other then the guitar "Not being described" , didn't like the item (color, tone, neck size, weight etc) then the Merchant fees will be subtracted from the refundable amount.

Refund will be issued once the guitar is back in the sellers hand within 5 days.

Please note:
Refunds can only be credited back to the card originally used to purchase the goods. Refunds can only be issued once we have received back the goods, and the above criteria is met

Trades and Part Exchanges:

We strive to provide the most competitive prices for trades and part exchanges. However, please understand that as a business, we have additional associated costs, which means we cannot offer market value. Sellers should anticipate offers ranging from 20% to 30% below market value - depending on the specifics of the guitar. Private sales are strongly encouraged.

Once a trade or part exchange agreement has been established, you are required to ship your guitar to us or, preferably, deliver it in person for assessment. Upon inspection and approval of your instrument, your new guitar will be dispatched within 24 to 48 hours.

For sellers opting for a cash sale, payment will be made via bank transfer within 48 hours of receiving and approving the guitar.

Please note that all trade and part exchange transactions are considered final. Once a guitar has been traded in or sold to us, it cannot be returned under any circumstances.

In exceptional cases, we may be able to accommodate a return request; however, please understand that the guitar is typically set up, photographed, and prepared for sale shortly after it is received. If you are experiencing buyer’s remorse, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. While we will do our best to assist, we are under no obligation to reverse the transaction.

Selling on Commission or Consignment:

Consignment Terms & Conditions

 1. Agreement to Terms

By submitting the SPG consignment form and ticking the box, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Commission & Fees

Squealing Pig Guitars (SPG) charges a 10% commission on the final selling price of your guitar.
This commission is separate from any platform or payment processing fees, which are deducted in addition.

Typical additional fees include:

  • Reverb Selling Fees: ~8.2% total (including Reverb + PayPal/Stripe fees)

  • eBay Selling Fees: ~11% total (including eBay + PayPal/Stripe fees)

  • Private Sales via Website: ~2.5% (Stripe or PayPal)

📌 Fee Breakdown Example (Reverb):
Final Sale Price: £3,000
SPG Commission (10%): £300
Reverb + Payment Fees (~8.2%): £246
You Receive: £2,454

📌 Fee Breakdown Example (Website Sale via Stripe):
Final Sale Price: £3,000
SPG Commission (10%): £300
Payment Processing Fee (~2.5%): £75
You Receive: £2,625

Fees vary depending on which platform your guitar sells through — we’re happy to advise upfront if you’re unsure.

3. Reserve Price (Net Amount to You)

You must set a clear Reserve Price — this is the minimum amount you will receive after all fees (SPG commission, platform, and payment processing fees).

SPG will not accept any offer unless the resulting payout to you meets or exceeds this Reserve Price.

✅ For example:
If your Reserve Price is £2,500, we will only complete a sale if the final price covers:

  • SPG’s 10% commission

  • Any platform or merchant fees (e.g. Reverb, eBay, Stripe, etc.)
...and still guarantees £2,500 net to you.

Important: While your Reserve Price is the minimum you'll receive, we will always aim to achieve the highest price possible based on current market demand. If we believe your guitar is worth more than your Reserve, we’ll make every effort to maximise the return on your behalf.

No exceptions will be made once a Reserve Price is confirmed.

 4. Payout Terms

You will be paid 14 days after the buyer receives the guitar, once the returns period has ended. This protects all parties from chargebacks and refund requests.

Payments will be made via bank/wire transfer only.

5. Shipping to SPG

The supplier is responsible for safely delivering the guitar to SPG, whether by post or in person. Please ensure:

  • The guitar is packaged securely

  •  Tracking and insurance are used where possible

SPG is not liable for any damage or loss in transit to us.

6. Liability & Insurance

Once your guitar is in our possession:

  • SPG is fully responsible for the guitar while it is under our care

  • We are insured against theft, accidental damage, and loss

  • in the event of such an incident, SPG will pay you the full agreed reserve price

7. Condition & Inspection

Your guitar will be inspected on arrival. Any undisclosed issues may delay or prevent listing. Please ensure:

  • It's clean and functional (unless otherwise stated)

  • Any mods or damage are declared on the form

8. Returns

If a buyer returns the guitar during their returns window, no payment will be issued to the supplier until the item is re-sold.

9.  Ownership Confirmation

By submitting a guitar for consignment, you confirm that:

  •  You are the legal owner

  •  You have full rights to sell the item

  •  The guitar is free of finance, theft claims, or legal disputes
