Our Story

Squealing Pig Guitars started in 2009, not in a boardroom, but in a family home filled with music, noise, and a deep love for guitars. It all began when our dad decided to part with parts of his prized collection—guitars he'd gathered over decades of touring and trading. What should’ve been a sad goodbye turned into something else entirely: a spark. Seeing those guitars find new homes and bring joy to new players lit something in us.

We weren’t a company back then. Just a family—me, my sisters, and our dad—sharing a passion for music. We’d grown up learning guitar, piano, drums, and anything with strings. There was never a quiet day in the house, and guitars were always at the centre of it. So, when the idea came to reinvest what we’d made into buying and selling more, we didn’t hesitate. It became more than just a side hustle. It became our calling.

From that moment on, we’ve poured everything into this—from building connections across the globe to carefully curating each guitar that comes through our hands. And along the way, we’ve stayed true to what started it all: a love of great guitars and the people who play them.

Moving Forward

Over the past 10+ years, Squealing Pig Guitars has grown into a recognised boutique destination for players, collectors, and tone chasers around the world. We specialise in pre-owned instruments from the most desirable brands, and we’ve built our reputation on honesty, expert knowledge, and genuinely caring about every guitar that leaves our hands.

In 2021, after years of operating exclusively online, we opened our first physical showroom in Staffordshire. It gave us the chance to do what we love even more—meeting customers in person, hearing their stories, and helping them find the right guitar.

In 2024, we made our biggest move yet—relocating to Nottingham, a thriving hub for music and creativity. This new space gave us room to expand, not just physically, but as a brand. The building is large enough to house a much broader collection of guitars, something we’d long dreamed of but only became possible thanks to the support and success we’ve built over the years. It’s a reflection of how far we’ve come, and a sign of the exciting things still to come.

Despite the hurdles—lockdown, Brexit, even a shop flood—we’ve never lost sight of why we started. Today, we’re more dedicated than ever to delivering the kind of service we’d want ourselves.
