Mid-’70s Greco “lawsuit” Les Paul Customs are rightly legendary — and the EGC-1000 sits right at the top of that tree. Built during the golden era of Japanese craftsmanship, these guitars were made with extraordinary attention to detail and materials that rival (and often surpass) many US instruments of the same period. The super-thin maple neck paired with an ebony board gives this guitar a fast, precise feel, while the pancake body keeps the weight sensible and the tone tight and focused. The original U-3000 pickups are a huge part of the appeal — articulate, punchy, and unmistakably vintage, with a clarity that works brilliantly for classic rock, fusion, and early hard rock tones.
This is one of those guitars that instantly explains why the lawsuit era became such a big deal — it’s not hype, it’s substance.
