Personal Thoughts:
The McCarty 594 is PRS’s answer to the golden-era singlecut — and in many ways, it’s one of the most complete vintage-style guitars you can buy without the vintage headaches.
The 24.594" scale length (hence the name) subtly shifts the feel under the fingers. It’s slightly slinkier than a typical 25" PRS and feels much closer to a late ’50s singlecut, but with PRS’s trademark precision.
The 58/15 LT pickups are the heart of this model. Lower output, open and dynamic — they clean up beautifully and have a lovely woody midrange bloom. There’s no harshness, just clarity and warmth. Pull up the tone controls and the coil splits are genuinely usable, not just an afterthought.
The Pattern Vintage carve fills the hand properly without feeling oversized. It’s substantial, comfortable and extremely stable. Paired with PRS’s build quality, you get impeccable fretwork, tuning stability and consistency up and down the neck.
Finished in McCarty Sunburst, this one keeps things classic — flame maple top, rich amber-to-brown fade and understated elegance. No gimmicks. Just a serious player’s instrument.
If you want vintage tone with modern reliability, the 594 platform is very hard to beat.
