Personal Thoughts:
A proper Custom Shop piece with serious vibe.
The Wide Fade Three Tone Burst over alder is classic late-’50s Strat territory, but the heavy relic treatment gives it that broken-in, road-worn authority straight out of the case. The anodised light gold guard against the burst is a great touch — subtle but very period-correct and full of character.
The roasted quarter sawn maple neck adds stability and snap, while the ’59 Esquire “C” carve feels substantial without being oversized. At .790” on the first fret and .980” at the 12th, it fills the hand nicely and encourages confident playing. The 9.5” radius and Jescar 57110 frets bring a modern edge to the feel — bends are smooth and effortless.
The Texas Specials deliver that punchy midrange and slightly hotter vintage tone. Plenty of spank and chime in positions 2 and 4, a strong glassy neck pickup for cleans, and a bridge that cuts without becoming harsh. It’s a Strat that feels alive and responsive.
One of those Custom Shop builds that balances authenticity with playability beautifully.
Condition Report:
Excellent condition. The relic work is factory original. No additional wear or damage beyond the intentional Custom Shop ageing. Frets are clean with no notable wear, hardware and finish present very well.
