This is a superb Ron Thorn Masterbuilt Strat and a beautifully judged interpretation of an early-’60s Fender. The aged Fiesta Red finish, dark AAA rosewood board and period-style appointments give it exactly the right vintage character, while the relic treatment adds the appearance and feel of a genuinely well-used instrument without compromising the precision of a modern Custom Shop build.

The neck specification is particularly appealing. The ’60s Oval C carve measures .790" at the first fret and .930" at the twelfth, giving it a comfortable vintage-inspired profile with a little more substance as you move up the neck. The 7.25"–9.5" compound radius is also a clever choice, retaining the familiar rounded feel in the lower positions while allowing cleaner bends and more comfortable lead work higher up the board.

A full set of hand-wound ’60s Strat pickups keeps the electronics firmly rooted in the era, with the Vintage Modified wiring adding a little extra practicality. Ron Thorn’s Masterbuilt instruments are always exceptionally detailed, and this one combines that workmanship with one of the most desirable traditional Strat colour combinations.

Mint condition beyond the intentional factory relic treatment. The checking, finish wear, exposed areas and aged hardware are all part of Fender Custom Shop’s original ageing process rather than subsequent damage. No noteworthy additional wear or issues to mention. Supplied with its original Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, certificate of authenticity and Shop Floor Traveller.
