The Collings City Limits Deluxe is widely considered one of the finest boutique single-cut designs available, and this 2006 example in Iced Tea Burst shows exactly why. With its carved maple top and Honduran mahogany body, it delivers rich sustain and clarity, while the Lollar Imperial pickups take it into open, articulate PAF territory — a perfect match for the instrument’s high-end build.
This guitar has seen some tasteful player upgrades, with Sperzel locking tuners for faster string changes and improved stability, and replaced pots for reliability. It’s a working musician’s Collings: not a case-queen, but a serious player’s guitar with all the tone and craftsmanship you’d expect, in a package that invites you to pick it up and play.
Condition Report:
Very good overall. Classified as player grade: shows impressions and small nicks consistent with regular use, but no structural issues. Finish, neck, and frets remain solid.
