The SoCo Deluxe is one of those guitars that manages to feel elegant, boutique, and properly usable all at once. This is a lovely spec too. The quilted maple top and Tobacco Burst finish give it a really rich, classy look, but it is the rest of the build that makes it especially appealing. The Honduran mahogany body and neck, extra long mortise and tenon construction, Madagascar rosewood board and Lollar P-90 set point to a guitar with loads of resonance, warmth and clarity. I also really like the slightly shorter 24 7/8" scale and Rounded C neck profile, which should make it feel comfortable and familiar without losing that high-end Collings precision. The ivoroid appointments, Collings-logo Gotohs and overall attention to detail just push it even further into that premium bracket. A very tasteful semi-hollow and a seriously desirable Collings.
