• Year: 2013Personal Thoughts
Danocasters really have their own following for a reason, and this is exactly the sort of spec that makes people chase them. The two tone burst with rosewood board gives it that proper early-Strat look, and the relic work on these always tends to feel a bit more believable and natural than a lot of the competition. Spec-wise, this is very much in the sweet spot too. The rosewood board softens things just a touch compared with maple, and paired with a light S-style build and vintage trem, it is the sort of recipe that usually delivers a really lively, broken-in feel. I also think the 9.5" radius and more player-friendly fretwire Dan commonly used on comparable guitars is a big part of the appeal, because it keeps the vintage look and vibe without making the guitar feel fussy or delicate. It is basically the old friend / great vintage Strat idea, but done in a much more usable and dependable way. Danocaster describes the line itself as custom-made vintage-inspired guitars styled after the classic '50s and '60s models, which is exactly what this one feels like.
Condition Report
Excellent condition. The relic wear is factory intentional as part of the original build style. Aside from that, it presents very well overall with only light signs of genuine handling and use.
