This BFR JP15 Butterscotch Burl is one of the most visually striking and tonally refined JP models Music Man have ever produced. The combination of a burl top framed by rosewood veneer over a Black Limba body is both rare and beautifully executed — organic, elegant, and unmistakably BFR.
Tonally, the Black Limba body adds warmth and depth compared to standard JP15 builds, pairing perfectly with the DiMarzio Illuminators for a sound that’s articulate, powerful, and extremely balanced. The 20+ dB gain boost gives instant lift for solos without compromising clarity, and the modern floating tremolo is as smooth and stable as you’d expect from Music Man.
The roasted maple neck and rosewood board feel exceptional — fast, stable, and luxurious — while the satin butterscotch back keeps things resonant and comfortable in the hand.
With only 100 units worldwide, plus the signed cavity cover and numbered COA, this is a serious collector-grade JP15 that also happens to be an outstanding player.
