This is a seriously cool anniversary model and one of the most collectible modern Axis guitars Music Man have produced. The Axis is such an important guitar in the brand’s history, and bringing back the original translucent finish concept for the 30th Anniversary run is a brilliant way of marking that. In Translucent blue it looks absolutely right, especially with the quilted maple top, matching headstock and the subtle sparkle black back finish. That combination gives it loads of visual impact while still staying true to the spirit of the original 1996 model.

The spec is exactly what you would hope for too. The figured maple neck with the classic asymmetric carve is a huge part of what makes an Axis feel like an Axis, and the custom DiMarzio humbuckers paired with the Music Man double-locking tremolo gives it that immediate, punchy, responsive voice people love these guitars for. Being number 34 of only 100 in this colour makes it even more appealing, and that sort of low-number limited run really adds to the overall desirability. A very special USA Music Man and a genuine collector’s piece that is still every bit a serious player’s guitar.
