This is a particularly special Luke 4 and one of only 150 Green Tide BFR examples produced worldwide. The flame maple top is finished in a vivid Green Tide treatment, contrasted by the dark translucent blue back and a matching painted headstock. The figured white maple neck and ebony fingerboard make the whole build feel significantly more exotic than a standard Luke 4, while still retaining the compact, ergonomic design that makes the model such a great player.

The HSS Music Man HT pickup arrangement gives it a huge amount of practical range, from clear, low-noise single-coil sounds through to a much more powerful bridge humbucker voice. Music Man’s Silent Circuit helps keep the single-coil positions quiet, while the adjustable 12dB boost provides instant extra output for lead work. The double-locking floating tremolo is another major distinction on this BFR edition, designed to remain exceptionally stable even with more aggressive tremolo use.

The collector appeal is particularly strong here. Each Green Tide BFR was individually numbered, limited to just 150 instruments worldwide and supplied with a Steve Lukather hand-signed tremolo cover and numbered certificate. This #129 example combines that rarity with one of the most visually distinctive Luke finishes and a specification that is genuinely different from the regular production model.
