This is a very cool Custom Shop Strat, and exactly the sort of spec that makes a lot of sense to me. It has that classic mid 50s Strat feel at its core, but with a few really smart upgrades that make it a far more serious player’s guitar in the real world. The faded British Racing Green finish looks superb, especially with the relic treatment, and it gives the guitar a slightly different look to the more familiar black, sunburst and blonde finishes you tend to see all the time.

Spec wise, there is a lot to like here. The 2-piece select ash body should keep things lively and snappy, whilst the rift sawn maple neck with the custom fat V profile gives it a really strong vintage flavour in the hands. The 9.5" radius and taller fret wire are exactly the sort of changes that make these Custom Shop Fenders feel easier and more practical to play without losing the old-school character. The Eric Clapton Masterbuilt pickups are also a great touch- standard Noisless@ custom wound, and help make this one feel that bit more special than a standard relic Strat. A very classy Custom Shop Fender with loads of personality.

Relic finish from factory. Presents very well overall, with the wear exactly as intended by Fender Custom Shop. Beyond the original relic work, there is no noteworthy additional wear to mention.
