Personal Thoughts:
This is a beautifully executed take on the very first Telecaster era, blending early-’50s aesthetics with subtle modern playability. The ash body and rift-sawn maple neck give it that classic snap and immediacy, while the ’54 U-shape neck feels substantial in the hand without being unwieldy — exactly what you want from a proper Blackguard-style Tele.
The hand-wound ’61 Loaded Nocaster pickups are a fantastic choice here. They deliver all the bite, clarity, and authority associated with early Tele tones, but with a touch more balance and refinement. Clean tones are big, open, and percussive; pushed sounds have grit, twang, and that unmistakable Tele punch that cuts through any mix.
The compound radius is a smart, player-friendly touch — it retains the vintage feel in the lower positions while making bends and lead work higher up the neck effortless. Visually, the Honey Blonde relic finish is spot-on: tasteful, convincing, and never overdone.
This is very much a best-of-both-worlds Custom Shop Tele — historically inspired, but genuinely easy to live with as a daily player.
