Personal Thoughts:
This is exactly what a great Custom Shop Nocaster should be — light, resonant, chunky in the hands, and absolutely dripping with vintage character. Fender absolutely nailed the balance here between authenticity and playability.
The lightweight ash body rings beautifully and keeps the guitar lively and responsive, while the fat ’U’ shaped maple neck gives you that unmistakable early-’50s Telecaster feel — substantial without being cumbersome. The 9.5" radius and narrow jumbo frets make this a joy to play, especially if you like bending without fighting the instrument.
Tonally, it’s everything you want from a Nocaster. Big, woody lows, rich midrange warmth, and that unmistakable Tele spank on top. The Custom Shop Nocaster pickups are perfectly voiced — raw and articulate without being harsh, with plenty of bite when pushed and lovely clarity when played clean.
The heavy relic work is very well judged: convincing, tasteful, and full of character without feeling overdone. It genuinely looks and feels like a well-loved vintage Tele that’s been played for decades.
This is one of those guitars that immediately makes sense the moment you pick it up — no hype required.
