This is a really cool early Custom Shop Nocaster and the Tobacco Burst finish gives it a much more unusual look than the more familiar Blonde and Butterscotch examples. The maple neck, black guard and aged hardware keep the overall aesthetic firmly rooted in the early ’50s, while the relic treatment gives it the feel of a genuinely well-used vintage Tele-style instrument.

The large ’50s U neck is a major part of the character, giving the guitar a substantial, old-school feel in the hand. Combined with the ash body, vintage-radius maple board and traditional three-saddle bridge, it delivers that dry, immediate attack and strong fundamental note you would expect from a good early Tele design.

The Custom Shop Nocaster pickups keep the tone simple and direct, with plenty of bridge bite, woody midrange and a fuller neck sound than many later Tele sets. A very characterful Custom Shop build from a strong period, and a particularly nice choice for someone who wants traditional Nocaster feel without the usual finish.

Excellent condition. The checking, finish wear and hardware ageing are part of Fender Custom Shop’s original Relic treatment rather than subsequent damage. Beyond the factory ageing, the guitar presents very cleanly overall with only light signs of careful use. Supplied with its original Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, certificate of authenticity and associated documentation.
