Personal Thoughts:
This is a seriously cool Tele.
Built as part of the Danish Pete run, this ’52 Relic takes everything we love about early Blackguard Teles and throws it into something far more rebellious. Deep Purple Metallic over ash with heavy relic treatment shouldn’t work on paper… but in the flesh it absolutely does.
The sorted ash body keeps things lively and resonant, while the big ’51 “U” carve gives you that proper handful of maple. At .950” to 1.000”, it’s unapologetically substantial — exactly how a ’52-style Tele should feel. The 9.5” radius and narrow tall frets modernise it just enough to make bending and fast work effortless.
Pickup pairing is spot on. The Twisted Tele neck gives you extra clarity and snap compared to a traditional dark Tele neck pickup, while the ’51 Nocaster bridge brings the bite, authority and that unmistakable Tele twang. It’ll do Bakersfield, Stones, indie grit and straight-up rock without hesitation.
The gold anodised guard against the purple metallic finish is a brilliant nod to early Tele aesthetics while keeping it unmistakably modern. It’s bold, but it’s not gimmicky — it feels intentional.
One of those Custom Shop pieces that has personality in spades.
Condition Report:
Excellent condition. Factory heavy relic from Fender Custom Shop. No additional wear beyond the intentional ageing. Frets are clean, neck is straight, and everything functions exactly as it should.
