Personal Thoughts:
This ’56 Reissue Super Heavy Relic Strat is a fantastic example of Fender Custom Shop ageing done properly. The Aged India Ivory finish has deep lacquer checking, beautifully worn edges, and a genuinely convincing played-in feel that mirrors a well-loved mid-’50s Strat rather than an exaggerated relic.
The off-centre ’56 V neck is a real highlight here — chunky without being unwieldy, with a pronounced shoulder that gives the guitar a solid, authoritative feel in the hand. Combined with the rift-sawn maple and narrow tall frets, it offers vintage character with modern playability.
Tonally, the hand-wound Fat ’50s pickups deliver everything you’d hope for: bell-like highs, scooped but musical mids, and a woody low end that blooms when pushed. It’s a Strat that excels at clean and edge-of-breakup tones, with plenty of dynamic response for blues, roots, and classic rock.
Condition Report:
Mint condition. Factory-applied Super Heavy Relic finish only, with no additional wear or issues beyond intended ageing. Frets, hardware, and electronics are all in excellent order. Supplied with original tweed case, Certificate of Authenticity, Floor Traveler, Custom Shop strap, and bridge cover.
