Personal Thoughts:
This is a superb example of a Custom Shop Jazzmaster done exactly right. The ’62 spec paired with a Journeyman Relic finish gives it that lightly broken-in feel without going overboard — tasteful wear, subtle lacquer checking, and a genuinely vintage-correct look.
The hand-wound flat magnet Jazzmaster pickups are the real highlight here. They deliver that unmistakable Jazzmaster voice — wide, airy cleans with huge harmonic content, a slightly hollow midrange, and a beautifully controlled low end. They absolutely shine in the rhythm circuit for warm, surfy cleans, while the lead circuit cuts through effortlessly when pushed.
The rift-sawn maple neck with AAA rosewood round-lam board feels fantastic in the hand — stable, smooth, and perfectly balanced. At 9.5" radius, it plays far more comfortably than vintage spec without losing any of the character that makes a Jazzmaster what it is.
