Personal Thoughts:
This is a showpiece-level Telecaster. The Gold Sparkle finish is absolutely hypnotic in person — a pure 60s hot-rod stage aesthetic. It looks like something straight off an era-correct surf or soul tour poster.
Tonally, the Texas Specials bring that extra bit of bite, push and midrange heat — the bridge has that fiery snarl, while the neck has the sweet, smoky fatness you get from overwound mid-60s style coils. It’s a Tele that’s not afraid to bark.
The relic work is tastefully done — just the right amount of broken-in authenticity without being destroyed or heavy-handed. Nitrous lacquer feels alive under the fingers.
This is the kind of Custom Shop Tele that immediately wants to be played loud — think Bakersfield meets Stax meets early Clapton and mid-60s live blues rock energy.
