  • Personal Thoughts:

This is a seriously cool Tele and one of those Custom Shop builds that feels instantly different from the standard formula. The Aged Inca Silver with that charcoal frost burst effect gives it loads of attitude straight away, and with the super heavy relic treatment it ends up looking like a proper one-off stage guitar rather than just another vintage-style reissue. The spec is what really makes it though. Pairing a Wide-Range CuNiFe humbucker in the neck with a hand-wound crushed Blackguard bridge pickup is a brilliant idea, because it gives you that chewy, rich, almost smoky neck sound while keeping all the snap, cut and bite you want from the bridge. That sort of setup makes a Tele feel much broader without losing its identity. I also think the ’72 Custom-style wiring, RSD saddles and vintage F tuners all suit the concept really well. It has a lot of visual character, but it also looks like a very serious player’s guitar. A really bold and very usable Custom Shop Tele.
