This is a seriously distinctive late-’60s-inspired Strat and one of those Custom Shop builds that has huge visual character before it is even plugged in. The Graffiti Yellow finish, reverse matching headstock and white pickguard give it a bold, almost competition-style look, while the Heavy Relic treatment adds extensive checking, wear and aged hardware for the appearance of a genuinely hard-used vintage instrument.
The pickup set is especially interesting. A hand-wound ’69 in the neck, Fat ’50s in the middle and Texas Special at the bridge gives the guitar three clearly different voices rather than a uniform set. The neck should deliver that glassy, open late-’60s character, the middle adds fuller vintage warmth, and the bridge provides extra output and bite for driven rhythm or lead work. The 1969 U-shaped neck, compound radius and reverse headstock complete a very individual specification. A bold Custom Shop Strat with plenty of collector appeal and a genuinely versatile tonal layout.
Condition Report
Mint condition beyond the extensive factory-applied Heavy Relic treatment. All lacquer checking, exposed timber, dents, fading, tarnishing and apparent wear are intentional Fender Custom Shop aging and should not be mistaken for subsequent damage. As-new overseas import supplied with its original Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, shop-floor traveller and associated documentation.
