Personal Thoughts:
This is a killer Custom Shop ’69 Strat, built as a faithful tribute to the late-CBS era with its large headstock, ’60s scoop, and relic detailing. The Surf Green heavy relic finish gives it all the road-worn vibe of a vintage Strat without sacrificing modern playability.
The hand-wound Fat ’60s pickups absolutely nail the glassy, bell-like tones this era is known for, but with a touch more output for punch and presence. Paired with the 6105 narrow tall frets and a modern 9.5" radius, this Strat feels far more playable than an original, while still keeping the vintage aesthetic intact.
From Hendrix-inspired cleans to classic blues crunch, this is a versatile Strat that looks, feels, and sounds like a well-loved vintage instrument — but with the precision only the Custom Shop delivers.
