This is a very cool Custom Shop Strat, and a great example of Fender getting that early 60s formula right whilst still making it feel like a serious modern player’s guitar. The spec is really well judged here. You have all the right vintage cues visually, but the flatter radius and taller fret wire make it a much easier guitar to live with day to day than a completely period-correct build.

The finish is the obvious talking point. The heavy relic work is dramatic, but it suits the guitar well and gives it a properly road-worn, old favourite sort of look rather than feeling forced. The aged 3-color sunburst works brilliantly with the rosewood board too, and it gives the whole thing that classic early 60s Strat appeal people always seem to come back to. The hand wound 60/63 pickups should keep it right in that sweet spot as well — clear, lively and expressive, with plenty of that vintage Fender character. A very desirable Custom Shop Strat and one with loads of personality.

Excellent Factory heavy relic finish. Presents very well overall, with the wear exactly as intended by Fender Custom Shop. Beyond the original relic work, there is no noteworthy additional wear to mention.
