Levi Perry absolutely nailed this one.
A ’55 Strat in Honey Blonde should feel simple and honest — but when it’s Masterbuilt, it becomes something else entirely. The lightweight ash body gives you that snappy, airy early-Strat resonance, and the hardtail bridge keeps everything tight and direct. There’s a firmness to the note attack here that trem models just don’t quite replicate.
The quarter-sawn maple neck carved into a soft ’57 “V” is where this guitar really comes alive. At .850" to .990", it’s substantial without being clubby. It fills the hand properly and feels authentically mid-’50s, yet the 9.5" radius and 6150 frets make it far more playable than the originals ever were.
Pickup spec is pure vintage gold — hand-wound ’57 set delivering glassy highs, woody mids and that unmistakable Strat “air” in positions 2 and 4. It’s articulate, dynamic and incredibly touch sensitive. Clean tones shimmer. Edge-of-breakup tones chime and bloom. It’s everything you want from a great early Strat.
Honey Blonde over ash with subtle heavy relic treatment is timeless. No gimmicks. No fuss. Just proper vintage vibe executed at the highest level.
Purchased new last year from Coda Music at £7,899.99 — and it shows. It presents as mint.
Condition Report:
Mint condition. Factory heavy relic from Fender Custom Shop. No additional wear beyond the intentional ageing. Frets are clean, neck is straight, and everything functions perfectly.
