This is a superb Dale Wilson Masterbuilt Strat and exactly the sort of guitar that shows why his relic work has become so highly regarded. The Daphne Blue finish has been aged heavily but convincingly, with extensive checking, exposed timber and beautifully worn edges giving the appearance of a genuinely hard-used early-’60s instrument. Paired with the dark AAA rosewood board and aged green guard, it has one of the most classic Fender Custom Shop looks possible.

The specification underneath is equally strong. The quarter-sawn maple neck, substantial ’63-style carve and 9.5" radius keep the feel vintage-inspired but practical, while the medium-jumbo 6150 frets make bending and lead work far easier than on a strict period-correct build. The hand-wound ’60/63 pickup set delivers the open, glassy and expressive Strat voice associated with the era, with the reverse-wound middle pickup helping reduce noise in the combined positions. A beautifully judged Masterbuilt guitar that combines Dale Wilson’s renowned aging work with an excellent player-focused specification.

Mint condition beyond the extensive factory-applied Heavy Relic treatment. All lacquer checking, exposed timber, dents, fading, hardware tarnishing and apparent wear are intentional Fender Custom Shop aging and should not be mistaken for subsequent damage.
