Personal Thoughts:
A Dale Wilson Fiesta Red ’61 is about as safe a bet as it gets in the Strat world.
The off-centre two-piece alder body gives this one proper vintage credibility, and the heavy relic work is exactly what you’d expect from Dale — authentic, not overcooked. The Fiesta Red has faded beautifully into that slightly softened, almost salmon hue that screams early ’60s.
Tonally, this one leans classic and articulate. The Dale hand-wound ’50s set delivers clarity and sparkle with a slightly scooped midrange and that unmistakable glass in positions 2 and 4. The bridge having tone control is a smart touch — you can tame it when needed without losing the edge.
The 7.25"–9.5" compound radius keeps it feeling vintage under the fingers, but without the choke-out you sometimes get on tighter bends. The quarter-sawn maple neck feels extremely stable and solid, and the Oval “C” carve is comfortable without being skinny.
These Masterbuilt ’61s sit right in that sweet spot — vintage feel, modern playability, and the reassurance of Dale Wilson’s name on the traveller.

Excellent condition. Factory heavy relic finish from Fender Custom Shop. No additional wear beyond intended ageing. Frets are clean, neck is straight and electronics function perfectly.
