Dale Wilson is widely regarded as one of the absolute best Masterbuilders Fender has — and when you see one of his Heavy Relics up close, you understand why.
This Graffiti Yellow ’60 is pure attitude. The relic work is beautifully judged — heavy, authentic, and full of character without looking forced. The checking, wear patterns and hardware ageing are exactly what you’d expect from someone who has spent decades perfecting the craft.
Tonally, the handwound 60/63 set delivers everything you want from a great early-’60s Strat: glassy top end, woody midrange and that unmistakable chime in positions 2 and 4. The RWRP middle keeps it practical for modern players, while the medium jumbo 6150 frets and 9.5" radius make it far more playable than a strict vintage spec.
The quartersawn neck adds stability and snap, and the ’65 “C” carve feels substantial without being bulky — a proper player’s neck.
This isn’t just another Custom Shop Strat. It’s a Masterbuilt example from one of the very best, in a colour that always commands attention.
