Personal Thoughts
This is a killer Masterbuilt Strat and exactly the sort of spec that makes Vince Van Trigt builds so desirable. Dirty Shell Pink is already a brilliant colour, but with the heavy relic treatment and green guard it has loads of personality without feeling overdone. It has that slightly rougher, cooler custom colour look that suits a Strat perfectly. Spec-wise it is a really strong player’s build too. The quartersawn maple neck, 60 Style Oval "C" carve, 9.5" radius and 6150 frets give it a more usable modern feel while still keeping the overall character rooted in an early-'60s Strat. The AAA round-lam rosewood board is a lovely touch and adds to the premium feel of the whole guitar. I also like the hand-wound 60/63 pickup set here, as that tends to be a great middle ground for players who want chime, sweetness and clarity, but still enough push and bite when you lean into it. Altogether it feels like a really well judged Masterbuilt - visually distinctive, vintage-inspired, but built to be enjoyed properly.
Condition Report
Excellent condition. Factory heavy relic ageing is present throughout as part of the original Masterbuilt spec. Beyond the intentional ageing, it presents very well overall with only light signs of handling and use.
