Personal Thoughts:
This Mary Kaye ’57 Masterbuilt is an absolute gem—light, acoustically alive, and dripping in golden-era Stratocaster tone. Greg Fessler and the Custom Shop team nailed the blend of vintage elegance and tonal sweetness here. The premium ash body delivers tons of resonance and natural brightness, while the handwound Abby pickups add all the clarity and character you’d expect from a high-end ‘50s build.
The neck is particularly inviting—worn in just enough for comfort with that lovely soft V profile. The Closet Classic aging gives it a naturally broken-in vibe without any heavy relic wear. Gold hardware rounds off the classic Mary Kaye aesthetic beautifully.
This isn’t just a collector’s piece—it’s one of the best-sounding, most dynamic Strats we’ve had through the shop.
