The Gibson J-185 has long been considered one of the most balanced and musical acoustics in Gibson’s lineup — often described as the "perfect middle ground" between the smaller J-45 and the larger SJ-200. This 2009 VOS edition combines vintage tone and feel with modern reliability, presented in a beautifully aged Vintage Sunburst finish.
The Sitka spruce top and flamed maple back and sides give this guitar a bright, clear projection with tight, articulate lows and sparkling highs. It’s incredibly responsive to touch — equally suited to fingerstyle and strumming — with a warm, open midrange that cuts through a mix without ever being harsh.
The shorter 24.75" scale makes it effortless to play. The VOS finish adds a subtle vintage patina, giving it that played-in vibe without the wear.

Condition Report:
Excellent condition. A few very light handling marks only and a few spots of nitro checking. No cracks, repairs, or major blemishes. Frets, hardware, and finish remain in superb shape.
