The R8 is one of those Les Pauls that always makes a lot of sense. You still get all the appeal of a Historic Les Paul Standard, but with the slightly fuller '58 neck profile and generally a slightly less hyped position in the market than an R9, which often makes them very appealing value. This one sounds especially strong in that respect. The Iced Tea Burst finish is a great fit for a 2006 Custom Shop reissue, and the classic mahogany and maple construction with BurstBuckers gives it exactly the sort of rich, punchy, open Les Paul voice people go after in a good Historic. At 9lbs 2oz it is a healthy, solid-feeling guitar without sounding excessive, and the fact it has seen very little play time is a big plus. A very smart Historic-era Gibson and one that sounds all the better for being such a clean example.

Excellent condition. This R8 has seen very little play time and the frets show very little sign of use. It presents as clean as many guitars you would find new in stores, with no visible wear beyond some faint polish swirling. Supplied in its original hardshell case with the case candy, though the COA is missing.
