This is a seriously unusual Gibson Custom build, combining the construction and historic detailing of a 1960 Les Paul Reissue with the lighter, more accessible Double Cutaway format. The Vintage Sunburst finish over the mahogany body gives it a warm and understated appearance, while the five-ply black pickguard, black plastics and aged nickel hardware add plenty of early-’60s character.

The pair of nickel-covered Firebird pickups is one of the most interesting parts of the specification. They offer a clearer, tighter and more focused response than a traditional full-sized humbucker, with plenty of upper-mid detail and bite while retaining a strong, muscular voice when driven. The slim .800"–.900" neck carve, hide-glue construction and historic fretwire complete a fast and vintage-inspired playing platform. A rare Custom Shop model that sits somewhere between a Les Paul Special, a historic reissue and a highly distinctive professional player’s guitar.

Very Good condition. Presents moderate signs of careful use with minor impressions and some minor dings, consistent with minor to moderate playwear. Supplied with its original Gibson Custom hardshell case and associated documentation.
