This is a superb Dealer Select ’59 Reissue, made especially desirable by its dealer hand-picked figured maple top. The Golden Poppy Burst finish is beautifully suited to this style of figuring, with rich amber and honey tones that allow the flame to remain clearly visible while retaining the warm, naturally faded character associated with an original late-’50s Burst.

The Dealer Select element is a major part of the appeal. Rather than relying on a randomly allocated top, the figuring was personally selected by the supplying dealer, resulting in a guitar with a particularly strong and carefully balanced appearance. It has plenty of movement and definition without looking excessively modern or over-figured.

Underneath the standout top is the classic Historic Reissue formula: mahogany construction, a long-tenon neck joint, rosewood fingerboard, lightweight aluminium hardware and unpotted Alnico III Custombuckers. The pickups offer an open, dynamic response with excellent clarity, woody mids and the expressive harmonic bloom expected from a top-tier ’59-style Les Paul. A beautifully chosen example with all the traditional character of an R9 and the added desirability of a hand-selected top.
