The ’63 Block Reissue is often considered the sweet spot of the ES-335 lineup — slimmer, faster neck than the early ’60–’61 spec, but with that unmistakable vintage air and resonance of the classic semi-hollow design. This 2014 example is from a very strong production window for the Custom Shop: lightweight, lively, and incredibly open-sounding. The Custombucker set delivers all the bloom and woody mids you want from a vintage-voiced ES — creamy lead tones, bright-but-sweet neck cleans, and that unmistakable semi-hollow chime.
The Faded Cherry finish has matured beautifully on this one, giving it the exact right amount of “old soul.” It looks like a proper player’s 335, not a museum piece — in the best way.
Condition Report:
Very good overall. One small nick on the back of the neck, a handful of tiny impressions on the body, and some very light playwear consistent with age. Frets and hardware remain clean. COA and case included.Part Exchange Welcome:
