Personal Thoughts: The hummingbirds in Flight Limited Koa edition is one of the most opulent acoustics Gibson has ever producedand this one, with its bookmatched koa back and sides, is simply breathtaking. The fingerboard alone is a work of art, with individual hummingbirds inlaid in mother-of-pearl and abalone across the fretboard, bridge, and headstock.
Beyond the looks, this is a seriously musical instrument. The spruce/koa combination delivers tight bass, crystalline trebles, and a lush midrange shimmer that opens up beautifully with fingerstyle playing or light strumming. A true collector’s piece that also begs to be played.
