This is a really appealing R8 and a great example of why the ’58 reissues have such a loyal following. They give you all the core Historic Les Paul appeal, but with the slightly fuller neck carve and a bit less of the premium people often attach to the ’59s. That tends to make them feel like very sensible guitars in the Gibson Custom Shop world. Cherry Sunburst is a great look on one as well, especially if the top has a bit of life to it, because it gives the guitar that proper late-’50s burst feel while still keeping the more understated R8 character. The maple-over-mahogany build, Burstbucker set and lightweight aluminium tailpiece all keep it firmly in that thick, open, vintage-leaning Les Paul lane. A very strong Historic-era Custom Shop Gibson.

Excellent condition. Presents very cleanly overall with only light signs of use. A very tidy example.
