This is a particularly striking Les Paul Custom and a great example of how different the model can look with a highly figured top. The 3A quilted maple has loads of movement across the body, and the Trans Amber finish allows the figuring to stay extremely visible while giving the guitar a warm, almost honeyed appearance. Against the ebony fingerboard, multi-ply binding and gold hardware, it feels much more exotic than a conventional solid-colour Custom.

Underneath the unusual cosmetics, it retains the classic Les Paul Custom formula: mahogany construction, an ebony board and dual humbuckers, giving it the sustain, weight and authority associated with the model. The carved quilted top adds a genuinely premium visual element without taking away from the traditional Custom identity.

A very handsome Gibson Custom Shop build with far more individuality than a standard Ebony or Alpine White example, and one that should appeal equally to players and collectors looking for something a little more distinctive.
