This is an outrageous M2M Les Paul Custom and exactly the sort of special-order finish that makes the programme so appealing. Gecko Green Sparkle has huge visual impact, shifting dramatically under different lighting and working brilliantly with the gold hardware, ebony fingerboard and traditional Custom appointments. It is unmistakably a Les Paul Custom, but with a far more modern and individual personality than the usual Black Beauty or Alpine White examples.

The specification underneath remains reassuringly familiar. A mahogany body with a plain maple top, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provides the classic Les Paul Custom foundation, while the nine-hole weight relief should make it more manageable without losing the substantial feel and authority expected from the model. The 490R and 498T pairing delivers warm, rounded neck tones and a much hotter, more focused bridge voice, making it equally suited to thick clean sounds, classic rock and higher-gain playing. A bold, highly distinctive Gibson Custom build with serious stage presence.
