This is a seriously classy Murphy Lab Les Paul Custom and a particularly unusual alternative to the traditional Black Beauty. The TV White finish gives the guitar a bold but elegant appearance, working beautifully with the ebony fingerboard, elaborate Custom inlays and aged gold hardware. The Ultra Light Aged treatment adds subtle lacquer checking, small impressions and a gently broken-in appearance without making it feel excessively worn.The one-piece mahogany body is central to the ’57 Custom character, giving the guitar a slightly different response from a maple-topped Les Paul. It should offer plenty of warmth, depth and midrange authority, while the ebony fingerboard adds definition and a quicker attack. The substantial Chunky C neck reinforces the vintage feel, while the Plek’d Historic Medium Jumbo frets provide smooth, accurate playability.The unpotted Alnico III Custombuckers complete the specification with an open, responsive voice that reacts beautifully to changes in picking strength and control settings.
