This is a seriously classy ’68 Les Paul Custom and one of the more unusual creations from Gibson’s Greatest Hits Collection. The Walnut finish gives it a warmer and more understated character than the traditional Black Beauty or Alpine White options, while the ebony fingerboard, block inlays, double binding and aged gold hardware keep all the elegance expected from a Les Paul Custom.

The maple-on-mahogany construction and long-tenon neck joint give it the classic late-’60s Custom foundation, with plenty of sustain, clarity and upper-mid definition. The ’68 Custom pickups are designed around the sound of Gibson’s post-PAF T-Top era, offering a tighter and more focused humbucker voice than the softer, more open ’50s-style Custombuckers. The medium C neck profile should also feel substantial without becoming oversized, making it a strong all-round player as well as a very desirable limited-edition piece. A distinctive Murphy Lab Custom with vintage character, refined aging and a genuinely unusual finish.

Mint condition beyond the original factory-applied Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment. The lacquer checking, subtle marks, hardware tarnishing and broken-in appearance are intentional factory features and should not be mistaken for subsequent damage.
