This is a seriously impressive SJ-200 and exactly the sort of Custom Select build that reminds you why the model is known as the King of the Flat-tops. The Wildfire Burst finish is a huge part of the appeal, especially with the burst continuing across the back, sides and AAA flame maple neck, because it gives the guitar a much more dramatic and luxurious look than a standard sunburst example. The 5A figured maple on the back and sides sounds like the real star of the show though, and on a big body SJ-200 like this it should look stunning from every angle. I also like that Gibson kept the classic SJ-200 identity intact underneath all of that visual flair. You still get the big 17-inch body, long 25.5" scale and that unmistakable powerful, snappy jumbo response the model is known for. The bound ebony board, abalone detailing and moustache bridge all push it further into flagship territory as well. A very high-end Bozeman build and exactly the sort of centerpiece acoustic people remember.
