Personal Thoughts:
This is a properly special Custom Shop Les Paul — a factory special order that blends period-correct ’57 construction with an unapologetically bold Candy Apple Red finish.
Under the finish, it’s pure vintage-spec Gibson: a solid mahogany body with carved maple top, long neck tenon, chunky early ’50s rounded neck carve, and a set of BurstBuckers that absolutely nail classic PAF character. Warm, woody lows, rich vocal mids, and an open, harmonically complex top end — it sounds every bit like a great late-’50s Les Paul should.
The Candy Apple Red finish gives this guitar a unique personality without straying into gimmick territory. It still feels unmistakably vintage, just with a little extra swagger — the sort of Custom Shop piece that turns heads while still delivering the goods sonically.
This is one of those Les Pauls that manages to be collectible, historically faithful, and genuinely inspiring to play — a rare combination.
