The humbucker-equipped ES-135s from around 1998–2001 are extremely desirable. The standard P-100 version is cool, but dropping full Gibson humbuckers into this platform transforms the tone — suddenly the ES-135 becomes a legitimate alternative to an ES-335, but lighter, more open, and with a very distinctive midrange character. The Natural finish on this one really shows off the maple laminate beautifully. It feels classy, clean, and vintage-correct without trying too hard. Tonally, the humbuckers give it warmth, sustain, and a sweet top end that works brilliantly for blues, classic rock, jazz, fusion, and anything semi-hollow.
This is one of those guitars that surprises you with how resonant it is — unplugged or plugged in. And in near-mint condition, it’s an incredibly clean example of a now-discontinued model.
