This is a particularly desirable late-’80s ES-335 Dot Reissue, originally supplied to the Japanese market through Yamano. Yamano-era Gibson imports have developed a strong reputation among collectors, with the Japanese distributor known for selecting high-quality examples for its market. The Vintage Sunburst finish, rosewood board and traditional dot inlays give it the timeless appearance most players associate with a classic 335.

The fitted Sunbear humbuckers are a high-quality upgrade and should suit the guitar extremely well, offering an open and expressive vintage-inspired voice with plenty of clarity, warmth and harmonic detail. Importantly, the original pickups are also included, allowing the guitar to be returned to its previous specification and preserving its collector appeal. A lovely older ES-335 with genuine character, strong provenance and the versatility to cover everything from clean jazz and blues through to classic rock.

Very good vintage condition. There is some lacquer lifting around the rear neck-heel area, along with minor scratches, impressions and general age-related wear. The pickups have been changed to a set of Sunbear humbuckers, with the original pickups included in the sale. The guitar otherwise presents well for a 1988 instrument.
