The first-version Les Paul Supreme is one of those guitars that still feels like a lot of guitar for the money, especially when you look at the materials and how much visual detail Gibson packed into them. The figured maple front and back, ebony board, split-block inlays, bound headstock and all the extra multi-ply binding give it a much more dressed-up feel than a standard Les Paul, and the chambered construction adds a slightly more open and resonant character as well. In Desert Burst, they look especially classy. I also think these earlier Supremes have aged well in the market because they sit in their own lane — not quite a Historic-style reissue, not just a dressed-up Standard, but a genuinely distinctive high-end USA Gibson from that era. For someone who wants something a bit more luxurious and unusual than the usual Les Paul formula, they make a lot of sense, and they do feel like really good value considering the materials and original build cost.

Excellent condition. There is some light patina to the hardware and some light finish checking in places, which is very much in keeping with the age and nitro finish. Overall it presents very well and remains a very clean example.
