  • Personal Thoughts

The ES-225T is a really cool and often overlooked vintage Gibson. It was Gibson’s first thinline electric, and you can feel that slightly transitional character in the spec. The laminated maple hollow body keeps things light and lively, while the full 24.75" scale gives it a more familiar Gibson feel than some of the other thinlines of the period. The single P-90 and that unusual combination bridge / trapeze setup are a big part of the appeal too — it gives the guitar a direct, punchy voice, but with a really airy hollowbody bloom underneath. I also think the stripped-back control layout suits it. It feels simple, elegant, and very usable, with a lot of old Gibson charm.

  • Condition Report

Very good condition for age. Honest vintage wear is present throughout, including surface marks and signs of handling consistent with a well-kept 1950s instrument. The fitted pickguard is a replacement, with the original guard included in the case.
